Overview
Blokkah is a comprehensive real estate platform serving the Saudi Arabian market. The product spans a cross-platform Flutter mobile app, a web-based admin dashboard, and a responsive marketing site - all built on a microservices architecture with Spring Boot.
My Role
As General Project Manager and Product Engineer, I led a cross-functional team of 8 developers from product conception through delivery. My responsibilities included:
- Defining product roadmaps and breaking them into executable sprints
- Making architecture decisions across the Flutter, backend, and web layers
- Managing stakeholder expectations and communication between the tech team and business leadership
- Setting up and maintaining Jira workflows, sprint ceremonies, and delivery milestones
- Serving as CTO, owning all technical decisions and code quality standards
Challenge
Coordinating 8 engineers across three separate product surfaces (mobile, admin, marketing) with shifting business requirements from a Saudi client - while maintaining velocity and code quality without on-site presence.
Solution
Implemented a disciplined Agile process with bi-weekly sprints, clear acceptance criteria, and a shared technical standards document. Used microservices to allow parallel development across teams without blocking dependencies. Established a design system shared across web and admin.
Outcome
Successfully delivered the main Flutter application, admin dashboard, and marketing website on schedule. The platform is live at blokkah.app and serving active users in the Saudi market.
